Quick thoughts on all this NFL/officiating stuff.
(1) Shame on the media for distorting the situation. The truth? It’s not just the replacement refs that are bungling calls… the old refs blew LOTS of calls… that’s why instant replay was adopted. Duh.
(2) Shame on the replacement refs for not taking more time to talk it over, review the replay, etc. Rookie mistake.
(3) Shame on the NFL for hiring inexperienced replacement refs. I can’t confirm this but someone on the radio said there are some high school refs out there. If this is the case, the NFL deserves the grief it’s getting. Stupid.
(4) Shame on the unions for, uhm, being unions. Ugh.
